Course Description


JBoss Application Server Administration focuses on the installation and configuration of the JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6 (EAP6). This hands‐on class covers the real‐world tasks that a System Administrator needs to know to deploy and manage applications on JBoss EAP.

Course Objectives

  • Install JBoss EAP.
  • Deploy EAP in Standalone Mode.
  • Deploy EAP in Domain Mode with a Domain Controller, Hosts, Server Groups and Servers.
  • Install a JDBC Driver and Configure a Datasource.
  • Configure Logging using Handlers and Loggers.
  • Deploy and Configure JMS Destinations with HornetQ.
  • Secure an EAP Instance and its Deployed Applications.
  • Configure the JVM of a Server Group, Host and Server.
  • Migrate an EAP5 Application to EAP6.
  • Configure the Web Subsystem of EAP.
  • Deploy and Start EAP in a Cluster.

Course Audience

  • Audience : JBoss System Administrators.
  • Prerequisites: Students should meet one or more of the following prerequisites :
    1. Experience with system administration on Linux, UNIX or Windows operating systems b. Understanding of hardware and networking.
    2. No prior knowledge of Java or JBoss is required.
